Melissa Ice
Melissa has been working with different NGOs locally & globally, serving people in poverty since 2002. She is currently the Founder & Executive Director of The Net, anti-trafficking non-profit that has served over 1,300 survivors since 2012 where they seek to empower and employ women and girls. The Net launched a social enterprise called Worthy Co, where Melissa serves as Co-Founder and Chief Vision Officer. Worthy Co employs survivors through job training and development and opened their headquarters /brick and mortar retail store in 2020. She is married to her husband of 15 years and has two little girls, Rosie and Justice.

What is the ministry challenge keeping you up at night?

With growth and scale comes more leadership pressure (bigger budget, bigger teams, bigger events).

What is the greatest hope for God’s work in 2023 you’re dreaming about?

For men to be involved in the fight against trafficking and for buyers to get the recovery they need.

What is a non-ministry activity that brings you joy and energy?

Speaking and communicating to groups both big and small about God’s heart for justice in the world. Renovating and running our airbnbs in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

What are the top 1-3 essentials for the Church in America to address to reach those who are spiritually open, but not yet following Jesus?

Establishing an empathetic understanding of people’s lived experiences To not respond to politics, suffering and culture wars the same way the world does To lead the way in loving our neighbor
